I just found this info on Moviehole.net: Rick Gassko invites you to his next Party Posted by Clint Morris on February 3, 2006
Twenty-Two years after Tom Hanks first flung the streamers around for his “Bachelor Party” – a sequel has been commissioned.
According to Video Business, “Bachelor Party 2” – which, by the way, won’t feature Academy favourite Hanks – will be headed straight to DVD sometime this year.
“It’s more about how beloved a movie was than when it was”, explains FOX’s Steve Bersch. Bachelor Party was a classic in its day. But very rarely will you see a movie launch specifically for video that doesn’t have any brand equity attached. A franchise lets you compete on street date with a [theatrical] movie that probably has a $30 million marketing spend.”
According to The Movie Insider, Jay Longino will write the script for the film and Ron Moler, William Sherak, Jason Shuman will produce.
In 1984’s “Bachelor Party”, Tom Hanks played Rick Gassko, a soon-to-be-married man whose friends throw him the ultimate bachelor party. The film also starred the late Wendie Jo Sperber.

Straight to DVD? Hoo boy, I hope it's not a stinker. I need to get in touch with Bob Israel, and find out the scoop.

This just in from Bob Israel (Producer of Bachelor Party), when asked about a sequel:
"Yes, the script is still being developed but the studio would like to get something out early next year. I'm involved with Neal as the executive producers, Ron as the producer, along with a couple of other guys."

Yes, I was just about to post some new info regarding BP2:
This is from Production Weekly:
"Fox has greenlit a direct-to-DVD sequel to the 1984 Tom Hanks comedy “Bachelor Party,” with James Ryan directing. Jay Longino penned the script that follows Ron, who’s been engaged to his fiancé Melinda after only knowing her for a couple months. Ron gets treated to the ultimate bachelor party in Florida, courtesy of Melinda’s brother-in-law Todd, in an attempt to sabotage his relationship with Melinda. Fully ready to party but determined to remain true to Melinda, Ron must endure temptation after temptation if he wants to remain engaged. Production is scheduled to begin filming late-March."
I know of two actresses that have been signed on. Melinda - essentially the new 'Debbie Thompson' - will be played by Sara Foster. Foster, a former fashion model, is probably best known for her role in 2004s "The Big Bounce" co-starring Charlie Sheen. The second actress is Emmanuelle Vaugier, from "Saw 2" and TVs "C.S.I". It's unclear who she'll be playing in the film. Just do a Google image search on both names to see some photos of these ladies.
