Until 6 months ago I used to live in Simi Valley and twenty years ago I was seeing this movie at the very same theater (Mann 6 in Simi) they filmed the final scene in when they were all running through the multiplex.
That was a weird moment to be in a theater watching a movie that was filmed in that very same theater.

Oh yeah it's still there! It was just built about a year or two before BP was filmed; for many years it was the only decent theater in town.
Since then it has been reduced to showing second run movies at discount rates as newer and better theaters have since been built in Simi Valley.

It may be there for a few more years, but I doubt it will be there in twenty more years.

At the time that mall was built, it was painted bright pink (hey, it was the early 1980's) and everyone in town called it the "Pepto Biz Mall". ;D

Thanks for the info. I'm going to be in Cali next week, and I plan on hitting a BP landmark or two (gonna hit the Los Angeles Biltmore aka Parkview Hotel a second time), so I just might get up to Simi Valley to check out the Pepto Biz Mall.
